It Was Our First Day Back,

and we had few things to do, although we did not get to bed till 03.00 we were still up early, having bought my ticket to the UK, when I looked for it at home it was nowhere to be found, I it put it some where too safe! so along to the travel shop, but first air for the bike,
then I noticed this chap in the distance on a ladder,
TV and Internet cable companies are putting cables up everywhere, but imagine trying to sort a cable out amongst that lot! but electrical poles like this are all over town,
anyway a new print out of my ticket was made in the shop on Soi Post Office, Champion Travel, I also noticed the post office was open, I had to send a letter back to the UK in answer to a e-mail I had received whilst in the Philippines, but first along to Fascino, the big drug store on Pattaya North for some tablets,
in the grounds around the car park they had a few of these bushes growing,
the bush, I do not know what it is called, has really nice flowers on it, so we made our way home and decided to go to the post office on Jomtien Soi 5, just arriving back we also wanted to buy some fresh fruit in the market near the top of Soi 5,
but of course the post office was closed, it appears it was a bank holiday so the smaller offices close, just the main one remaining open, still the fruit market was open so it was not a wasted trip,
whilst watching DVD's in the evening we often have a apple or two too munch on,
when we were back Mick called in to see how the holiday went, he had some good news, one of the local SCUBA divers drew him a map of local fishing spots, so hopefully we will start to fill the freezers up next time we are out,
whilst he was here Mr. Tony and Phil called in for a tea and a chat,
Mark also called in just before we went out, but first to the soup stall for our evening meal, but alas it was not there, go to plan B,
along to the other market to buy some chicken to make a chicken curry, it is now the start of the rambutan season, so there were piles of them everywhere,
I should have also mentioned that it was also the durian season as well,
and you do not want to trip over one of these!
fresh vegetables as well,
I still worry every time I go past one of these boiling oil pans in case one falls over, not that it is likely, but they look so unsafe,
for some reason the market today was especially crowded,
then time to go out on the town, although we did not go to sleep till 3.00 this morning, it was Wednesday so we went out to see a few friends,
as we were a bit early we went for a walk along the street, a new shoe shop, Findig had opened, just past the Marine Bar on the other side of the road, they have a huge outlet on Second road,
the newish Double Six Club a bit further along,
as the bingo caller would say, 'double 6 clickerty click',
then on the left a very quiet Soho Square,
and that very strange bar, we seldom see customers in there, but it is always open, so I guess the 8 or so seats in there must be taken by the late night crowd,
if there is one shop guaranteed to stop Diana in her tracks it is a hand bag store, of course she is like a mini Exocet missile when it comes to jewellery stores but that is like just a quick look and pass on, but go past a handbag store and almost each one is picked up and examined, worse still in this one, we stop every time we walk past, the prices had come down from 1,800 baht to in some cases 999 baht, unfortunately we only had enough on us for this evening,
then to Sweethearts, the guy outside used to work for Sisterz till it closed, rumour is that it will open again as The Cave next month, speaking of opening again, as we walked past Coyotes ago-go there was some one inside, a perspective buyer or work starting? inside Sweethearts we said Hi to Grieg then a few friends called in, first Mick and Mass, followed by Phil, shortly afterwards, Jay and Precil called in, Peter who we had not seen for more than a few months surprised us all, he also brought some good news that a friend of ours, Udon John was on the mend and should be here for a few days soon, Kenny, AKA the dancer will also be arriving shortly, then we moved on to see Juu in Champions,
the good news was that Big Jim was in there, also Champion boss Juu has said that next week all new air conditioners will be fitted, so it will be a real chill out! Mick and Mass also called in to say Hi to Juu, who at the end of the evening, well about 01.00 in the morning gave us a ride home, whilst waiting in the car park I noticed this Kawasaki Ninja, nice, then home for bed, we have had a long day.

That bar next to the big tree. I used to hang out across the street from there in the Hot Tuna 2 bar... at least that is what it was called then. That bar you refer to is a pickup spot for ladyboy freelancers. They have short time rooms upstairs from there.

Dear Jil, I am not sure what it is called now, but you are right there are more than a few lady boys in that area, best regards, Stan and Diana.
