This Is One Of Those Good Luck Stories,

I like so much,

whilst out treasure hunting 20 years of metal detecting finally paid off for Stan Cooper, he found a small 14th century heart-shaped gold brooch in a farmers field near Sandbach, Cheshire, unaware of its value he took it to a friend who had a ultra sound cleaner, later inspection revealed it was gold and valuable, it now has been dated to between 1350 and 1450 and is thought to have originally been a betrothal gift because the hands appear to be male and female,

now comes the good news, firstly the Crown disclaimed it, so there was no need for a treasure trove inquest and it is free to be sold, secondly it appears that the find is worth some £25,000! Bill Forrest from Adam Partridge auctioneers in Macclesfield, Cheshire, which is selling the brooch, said: 'it is an annular-style brooch that combines two symbols; a heart and hands clasped, it is rare to find these two symbols together on one brooch and it really is such a fine thing that a jeweller today would struggle to make it', good luck or what!
