If I Was A Whisky Drinker,

this news would have brought a tear or two to my eyes,

the Chivas Brothers bottling plant in Dumbarton announced that during a cleaning operation it was estimated that about 18,000 litres (3,960 gallons) of spirit was flushed out on Tuesday when the fluid was mistaken for waste water,

in a statement the company said: 'We are currently investigating an accidental loss on the 26th of February at our Dumbarton site, where some spirit was released to the local water treatment plant, there has been no release of spirit to the River Leven or any other local water course, We have informed Scottish Water and all other relevant authorities',

some reports state that the supply that was lost was worth £500,000, what a waste, but hopefully they were insured.
