It Appears There Is A New Race On,

between local councils to see who can paint the shortest yellow lines,

this week the challenge has been meet by Cambridge County Council who have waded in with a set of double yellow lines measuring just 13 inches long, previously Canterbury City Council held the record with their set of double yellow lines at 21 inches long only to be beaten by Norwich City Council who painted a set just 17 inches long,

but back to Cambridge the current shortest double yellow line championship holders, a County Council spokesperson said: 'this is common practise, the yellow lines are at either end of a disabled parking bay and are there to prevent vehicles parked either side from encroaching on the disabled bay',

small they may we be but park over them at your peril, the fine is £70 if you do, I believe claiming you did not see them is not an excuse!
