I Had Not Realised,

that all terrain saloon cars had been around for such a long time,

until I saw this picture of a rare Russian 60 year old GAZ M72, it is basically a muscle bound version of the GAZ M20 Pobeda (“Victory”) passenger sedan, produced from 1949 through 1958 by GAZ (Gorkovsky Avtomobilny Zavod) in the Soviet Union and by FSO Warszawa in Poland, both factories produced a limited number of M72's beginning in 1955, the body was phosphate-coated to prevent rust, which I guess helped keep this one in such good condition, the engine produced 55HP and had a 3 speed gearbox plus 4 wheel drive, I have to say I quite like it, I wonder if some entrepreneur will start to make the GAZ M72 again?
