Up And Out,

and this is where we are going,

Art in Paradise, the official address is seventy-eight thirty-fourths or No. 78/34, Moo 9, Pattaya Second Road, the easiest way to describe how to get there is go along Second Road past Alcazar on your right, then Big C also on your right and take the second on the right past that and it is on the left hand side, just a small tip, go early, we arrived as they opened at 09.00 in the morning, that way there will not be many people in front of you as you try to take pictures, and bring a spare memory card and battery!

 it is a 3D adventure,

 where you can interact,

 with the paintings,

and are indeed encourage to do so,

on the floor in front of each display,

there are two foot prints showing you where to stand,

and whether to take the picture,

 standing up right,

 or to crouch,

 to get the best,

 anamorphic effect,

Dad was really enjoying this one,

Dad, Lyn and Daisy May are all in there somewhere,

 kisses for the fishes,

if you have not seen this type of thing before,

the subject of the paintings come out at you,

and also gives with sometimes the aid of added shadows,

 a really neat 3D effect,

the paintings are works of art in their own right, take the eagle in this picture with it's shadow on the wall,

 the face,

and down to the eye has incredible detail,

now a trip to the jungle, but before that I should have said it is not very bright in here, so I set the speed of the camera to iso 200, instead of the 100 I normally set the camera on, also I do not use Photoshop or any other editing when I post on our blog, but, today as it is dark inside the gallery I have used the automatic brightness button, which as it's name suggest brightens the pictures but also slightly increase the colours in case they look brighter than normal to you, the other option was to use the flash, but then the light from that reflects back into the camera and ruins the picture,

 back to the jungle,

Dad got too close to the crocodile,

another bit of fun, in some of the paintings if you look carefully the artist has added a small detail, like this frog, only an inch or two across and easy to miss so look out for the small details if you do visit,

through this grand entrance to the next hall,

 where you can pose with,

and in various well known paintings,

 or story book settings,

Dad had disappeared but we found him again,

there are so many pictures to photograph here,

 and interact with,

 like these few,

where you can give the lady on the swing a push and catch her slipper,

 then we found Dad again,

 Lyn being crowned,

Dioshane and Daisy May in the clouds,

we then entered into the huge main hall,

it seems strange to think all of this is just painted on the wall and the floor,

there are no raised places to walk on, but Daisy May nearly took a tumble!

I mentioned before about some of the artists putting small details in their work, did you see the hang glider in the previous picture?

then on to Ayutthaya (full name Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya), Thai: พระนครศรีอยุธยา, which was quite fitting as I think it was the setting for some of the scenes in last nights The Scorpion King 3, that we watched,

I went to Ayutthaya many years ago and remember seeing the Buddha here in the same setting as a tree grew round it,

if you think it was difficult jumping on to the rock and not falling into the lave below, you should have seen the problems jumping back again!

how did that song go? Walk like an Egyptian,

 next we go exploring,

and lifting a secret stone find some treasure,

whilst being scrutinised by Neferneferuaten Nefertiti who was the Great Royal Wife of Akhenaten, an Egyptian Pharaoh, well at least that is who I think it is,

we were now one floor up, so we could look down on the grand hall,

and on the floor below in the Egyptian section where we were previously,

so what better way to cross the desert? a camel,

well there is one better way, a magic carpet!

time for a rest, for myself,

 and Dad,

this is not 3D, it is real,

 a work in progress,

which looking at it is going to continue in an Egyptian theme,

there always seems to be more here than the last time we visit,

this huge face and hand being one we had not seen before, remember all of this is painted on the flat wall and flat floor, amazing!

Songkran having just past this one was topical,

next we were into Alice in Wonderland,

 and a flight of fancy,

 or two,

 Albert instantly recognisable,

but I am not sure about this one,

 ballet anyone?

 or perhaps some meditation,

 night begins,

so a look at the stars,

 Dad was lucky, everyone missed,

this was a new picture from the last time we were here,

 I really like this mirror,

 but sometimes it is not,

here was a bit of fun,

we were now in the prehistoric, or dinosaur room if you prefer,

and this group had brought their own baby dinosaur with them,

so the photographer using his mobile telephone got down low and nailed the shot with the small toy in the foreground,

mean while super sized ones were creeping up on the family,

and even trying flying away with one,

 but gave up,

 across the canyon,

 and into Venice,

and a gondola to get around town,

 or two,

 another new picture,

I said, 'do not take that one!' but do kids listen?

 another new exhibit,

 'Aha!'

 this one was cute too,

we have been having a bit of rain lately, so this frog holding a leaf would come in hand to keep us dry,

we then came to another couple of works in progress,

the artist making a new painting,

 his palette,

busy at work copying the picture on top of blue part of the picture,

and the next time we visit this is what it will look like,

Daisy May on the left giving her Mum Lyn a good telling off!

 another work in progress,

but I am not sure what the character will be,

time to say good bye to Art in Paradise, there was so much to see, so allow plenty of time for a look around,

so off to our next stop,

 Soi Bukaow market,

 but I cheated,

I dropped the family off and went home,

after looking around the market the family went over the road to,

 the TukCom Centre,

 next a bite to eat,

  at Chesters grill in TukCom,

 then baht bus,

and home, after a short rest it was then time to get ready to go out for our evening meal but as there will be lots of pictures of it I have split today's post into 2 parts, so just hit the 'older posts' button if you want to read it.
