We Have Not Seen Nick And Maureen For Such A Long Time,

due to our trip to the UK and then they had family staying with them,

but during that time Nick found another fishing park, the Paifon Fishing Park

Nick and Maureen had been here before,

but it was a first for us,

the lake was nicely laid out,

 with rain and sun shelters,

and seats near the waters edge,

Diana took the camera and had a walk around, a sculptured down pipe for rain water,

 we both tackled up eagerly,

it has been more than a few months since we last went,

another great thing about this park is that it has hammocks, what more could Diana wish for?

first fish of the day 1-0 to me, then it was Nicks turn, 1-1,

 another for Nick

this one a nice sized tilapia,

so off it went to the kitchen, also here there is a nice selection of pot noodles, crisps and biscuits as snacks and a nice sized menu to choose from,

another for Nick but too small to keep,

 one more for myself,

 then another,

I hate to admit it, but I was slowly pulling ahead,

then Nick decided on a change of tactics, he was going for bigger fish,

 and was soon into one,

and what a size it was too,

the fish locally is called Pla sawai in Thai, ปลาสวาย, (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) in the UK the iridescent shark, (it is not a shark),

if you are in a restaurant and are eating fish and chips you are normally given a choice of imported or local fish, if you chose local, normally dory, this is what you are eating,

unlike this tilapia, Diana was so keen to bone it and dish it up she forgot to photograph it!

Nick was in to another big one,

 still only counts as one!

it was a big one too,

the landing net almost too small,

to fit the fish in it,

 Nick carefully unhooks the fish,

one for the camera and back he went,

looking towards the restaurant and tackle shop,

 one more for Nick,

and back he went as well, it is only the tilapia that we keep to eat,

in front of the car park,

and behind us,

there were chickens, lots of them,

for a bit of fun I put this video together of Nick catching some of the big fish, the final score 19-9 to me, to be fair Nicks biggest would have weighed more than all of mine put together, so it was a good job numbers not weight counted! it is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the Soi from Sumkivitt, once in the Soi go over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom of it you will see a big pink building on the left where we normally turn right into the old fishing park, do not turn right, keep going until you see Soi 24 and turn right there, continue for about a mile then turn left again it is past Soi 14, the concrete road comes to a strange cross road,

take the one with the sign on it and the park is on the right hand side, we took 5 fish home with us, the kittens are having fish tomorrow!

we stopped in at Nick and Maureen's for a coffee we were still not sure about leaving the kittens for a long time, so we did not stay for our usual game of Monopoly,

arriving home the kittens were fine, after our evening meal it was feet up for another few from The Borgias, still so good and more to come tomorrow, and with that we were then off to bed.
