Diana Was At Work,

when Len called by,

after a fire inspection we were told we had to have a self closer put on our front door,

as the door is in a plasterboard wall, the fitting has to be one that is fitted in the door,

and here is Len hard at work,

unfortunately the drill bit was not long enough, so off to town to buy a longer drill bit,

and there it was job finished, not, because the door had a fire proof backing the door was extra heavy, so the closer would not close it, Len will be back tomorrow to either fit a stronger closer or a second one, why do things like this never go smoothly for us?

after Len left it was time for my evening meal,

a couple of smoked trout fillets,

'Cheers!',

for my main course a chilli con carne,

eyes down and tuck in,

for dessert a couple of plums,

just before 10.00 Diana called, so off to the bus stop and home, where it was feet up for a New Ticks and one more from Have I Got More News For You before we were off to bed.

Stan-you are not alone…most homeowner do it yourself repairs require a tool you don’t have and extra trips to the hardware store to get the unexpected in an expected situation. We eventually get the repair accomplished but usually takes twice as long (with some frustration) to finish vs a professional. Once the task completed always good to have a few drinks to calm the frustration down to pre task mood. These things NEVER go smoothly for us either.

Dear John & Alley, for us it is the fact that even if we get a professional in, the job still goes mustang! as in this case, drill not long enough and the closer not strong enough, it is just our luck! best regards, Stan and Diana.
