3D for the project. “The history that we’re making today is that this is the
first-ever owner-occupied 3D printed home in the world," said Zachary
Mannheimer, founder and CEO of Alquist 3D to WTKR, according
to Janet V. Green, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater
Williamsburg, the use of concrete instead of lumber to 3D print the walls saved
an estimated 15% per square foot in building cost. Moreover, the house also
comes with a personal 3D printer so the new homeowner can print anything she'd
need, "everything from electrical outlet to trim to cabinet knobs,"
said Green to CNN, what an amazing way to build a home, and so quick, I have to be honest, I still do not see how a printer can make a full sized house, but there it is it can be done!
