When Is A US $20 Bill Worth A Lot More Than $20?

let me first explain,

when a $20 is printed it goes through 3 different printing stages, apparently between stage 2 and 3 a worker at the printing plant got hungry and presumably ate a banana, because a label from the banana dropped into the printing press, and so the Del Monte note as it is now known was printed, a student noticed the sticker in 2003 and sold the bill for $10,000. It went up for auction in 2006 and drew $25,000. Heritage Auctions sold the Del Monte note again in January of 2021, the bidding went up and up, so how much would you give for the Del Monte note? have a guess an see how near you are to the price achieved,

the $20 bill went for an astonishing $396,000, setting a world record for an error note, now here is a thought for the treasury to make a bit of extra cash, deliberately introduce different stickers or perhaps company logos on notes then auction them off, all for the price of a $20 bill!

Dear John and Alley, as I mentioned what a great way for the government to earn extra income, by making 'fake' bills instead of real ones! best regards, Stan and Diana.
