whilst there we staring chatting about how much we both liked our stay with the girls in Paris, and by sheer happenstance today I came across these,
in the early
1950s, Swiss designer Gérard Ifert walked the streets of Paris on quiet
Sundays, taking pictures of colourful shopfronts,
Paris Colours is a slim photobook that gathers together 33
photographs by Swiss designer Gérard Ifert (b.1929), together with a text by
Catherine de Smet, who is currently working on a forthcoming book about Ifert’s
work,
I think it would make a good follow up today,
to revisit these shops of the 1950s and rephotograph them, or what is there now, the full article is here in Eye Magazine, but what a coincidence, talking about Paris last night and then stumbling on this article this morning.
