the 1st. of the month of the New Year,
back to New Years eve, coats on and out for a walk,
it had been raining all morning, but thankfully stopped,
we decided to walk to the mansion,
in the distance the fun fair,
a quick pose,
and then it was my turn,
as we walked up the hill,
no farmers market today,
but the fun fair was in full swing,
Diana at the front looking at Punch & Judy,
which was near her favourite stall, the one selling marshmallows,
the colours of the rides looking bright in the winter sun,
back at Punch & Judy,
I am not sure who this fellow was,
but much to the delight of the kids he got his comeuppance as he tried to steal the kids Christmas presents!
not too many people in the park,
which meant the queue for a hot drink was not to long,
we started on our walk back home,
great fun when this one is going round,
we passed the entrance,
and started downhill,
and through the gates and home,
arriving home, time for a read and a sherry,
for our starter today,
lobster bisque soup with a half lobster each, well it was New Years eve!
Diana then decided on chicken noodles with Filipino spring rolls,
for myself roast duck,
'Cheers!',
for dessert a Belgian chocolate & sea salt crown, with lashings of cream,
'Cheers!',
eyes down and tuck in,
in the afternoon it just had to be a Bond, although we had watched it before we watched No Time To Die, another great film from the Bond franchise, after which it was Columbo's,
until we started watching The Mummy Returns, great boys own adventure, then the countdown began as we joined Jools Holland in his Hootenanny, what a great way to see the New Year in, with so many guest all celebrating with the studio audience the countdown, regular readers will know we watched him live in June 2022,

Dear Stanley and Diana
Great fun for all and we enjoyed your skill at dancing, Stanley! Maybe it is only good New Year’s comes once a year-gives you time to catch your breath. Glad you folks had a good evening and did a good job of welcoming in 2024.
Best
John. And Alley
Dear John and Alley, I was only joking about being short of breath, it takes the can-can to make me puff a bit! we always like welcoming in the New Year, when Thailand we always sat in Walking Street with all of the gang, great fun, all the best for the New Year, best regards, Stan and Diana.
