I noticed a couple of visitors,
on our next door neighbours roof,
two ducks were back, blog posted and I was on my way out to visit Duncan,
into a sunny but cold day, the number 54 bus stop was closed,
so a walk past the green,
to the stop by the church,
the traffic was snarled up,
and this is why, traffic lights by the mini roundabout that is being installed,
past that and I was on my way, and soon passing Homebase,
and the market at Lewisham,
arriving at Blackheath village, the florists next door to the station was just opening,
lots of potted plants,
like these sunflowers,
and hydrangeas,
both up trains had left, so not many passengers on the platform opposite, and today I was in luck,
no changing trains at Dartford, I was soon in Gravesend, and onto a number 483 bus to the nursing home where Duncan stays,
off of the bus and up the hill,
a short walk to the home,
a few more roses were flowering,
this bush really putting on a good show, Duncan was in fine sprits, we chatted away, as it happens in the background there was a programme on the television about horse riding, we both reminisced about our time in Riga many years ago where we went riding in one of the forest outside of the capitol, Diana had bought some strawberries for his dessert today, so as his lunch arrived we said our goodbyes until next week,
outside it was getting a tad cloudy,
on the way out of the home,
the apples were growing, a few more than literally the one that grew last year!
I arrived at the bus stop to the station and then caught the train home which also went through to Blackheath so no changing trains at Dartford, onto the number 54 bus, nearing Lewisham,
I noticed some hanging baskets on the Lewisham Tavern,
looking nice for the summer,
still no new plants in the flower beds at Lewisham hospital,
just before what was Catford police station, a bit of drama,
lots of police in attendance, but all of the action was over,
on this bus shelter,
the plants had not taken, but the weeds had!
on the green in front of the church opposite Homebase some Canadian geese were with their goslings,
two here,
and two more here,
another bus shelter with a bee garden,
where the weeds have taken over,
as the bus neared the park, a hold up,
traffic lights for work on the mini roundabout,
some of the pavements on Southend Road are being made wider,
as well as Foxgrove Road,
pity no one is actually working here,
into the park and home, Diana is already at work as she is on evening shift today,
'Cheers!', BattleBots was getting very interesting as tonight it was the quarter finals for the year leading to the ultimate prize,
the Giant Nut, photograph Reddit, team Whyachi's giant nut and also the
2001 Battlebots trophy, as you can see it really is giant! for the technical, each Giant Nut is made from a solid piece of aluminium
material, with the BattleBots logo engraved into its front, above its threaded
hole. For the modern seasons, the World Championship season number was also
engraved into the front of the trophy. Each Giant Nut weighs 27.7lbs and
measures ten inches across its diameter, after which I was hoping to watch another of the World's Greatest Rivers, but alas it was not be shown, so a Tuna Wars it was before a Midsomer Murder, during which Diana arrived home, so feet up for a coffee and a chat as we watched Life on Mars before we were off to bed.
