and lose the plot in one easy lesson,
make an advertisement about the world famous car brand that you sell,
but make sure it does not feature any cars! the company is Jaguar, and although the advertisement has been noticed, I am not sure it is in a good way, gaining comments like
this from Tesla boss Elon Musk who tweeted a response to Jaguar's advert
posted on X by asking: "Do you sell cars?" message to Jaguar, 'if you run out of ideas go old school' like Ford did way back in 1965, when the company disassembled a Mustang and transported it in four
parts to the top of the Empire State Building for publicity,
‘Ford agreed to participate and sent a crew to New York City
to take measurements of the skyscraper’s doors, hallways, and elevators. They
determined that a Mustang convertible could be disassembled into four sections
and transported, along with many smaller pieces, in elevators to be reassembled
on the 86th floor. Three dry runs were performed in Dearborn to make sure it would
work’,
what a neat and cost friendly idea,
you have engineers already paid for and working for you, just change their jobs a tad! the only real
cost apart from the car and engineers was the hire of a helicopter, and today
you could record the same with a drone! Shortly afterwards the car was taken
apart again and moved inside the glass-enclosed observation area where it
remained for five months, the full article is here, Jaguar take note and do not go woke!
Dear Stanley and Diana
ReplyDeleteYes, Jaguar’s new ad series is being rejected by Jag owners. Lots of negative publicity here in USA about this WOKE topic-something that everyone who voted for Trump hates. So many professional ad agency experts are warning Jaguar they have made the fatal “Bud Lite” mistake and have damaged the Jaguar brand for future sales. Many current owners are also voicing complaints as they do not to be associated with this aggressive progressive movement. Tata needs to change their ad agency immediately and try to recoup lost image and brand before the curse of full avoidance of buyers occurs . Should be an interesting case study to watch. Not many with common business sense anymore.
Love the mustang story! I bought one for $2400 new back in the day. Now, just replaced our BMW runflat tires for $2500-my inflation does sting! Wow!
Regards and welcome home to you both!
John and Alley
Dear John and Alley, where has common sense gone with Jag and Bud to name just a couple? pandering to 10% of the population whilst ostracising the rest! Would I like a Mustang? you bet!!! For myself it would have to be the Steve McQueen car in Bullet right hand drive of course! it is sort of nice to be back, but it is so cold! also the winds are terrible, we are suffering from the edge of Storm Bert, the people to the west and north of us are having a real bad time of it, best regards, Stan and Diana.
