so first thing I was out,
into another cold, grey day,
I walked into town past the Christmas tree, we were here for carol singing and turning the lights on a few days ago,
the Christmas tree shop on the green not yet open,
I made my way down the steps, past what was once Beckenham's police station,
looking at the Christmas decorations that shops,
and restaurants had put out for their Christmas displays,
back to the side of the street I was on,
looking back towards what was the police station, turn left at the lights and into the doctors surgery to give my yearly sample of blood, I also found out that I had not only missed this years covid injection, but somehow I had missed last years as well!
the local fish & chip shop,
arriving here at Akasi Pharmacy, where in no time at all I had this years covid jab and I was on my way home,
so a bit of a walk
towards Beckenham Place Park,
over the narrow bridge which crosses the railway line, the bridge is now one way for cars,
and into the road that leads to the park entrance,
as it is winter the road is always awash with water,
from pavement to pavement in places,
no chance of keeping your car or shoes mud free at this time of the year!
the house that so many people would like to live in,
except when it rains!
having said that the summer is not much better, the road turns into a huge localised dust bowel, still at least you do not get muddy shoes!
into the park and turn left,
and I am on my way home, where I carried on sorting through our collection of photographs, I also started using our new paper shredder, it was rather good, except as I had read after buying it, the machine after 3 minutes of shredding switches off for a 75 minute break, to get its breath back, during the day/afternoon/evening I have become convinced my telephone listens to me and then makes suggestions of places to go, but for the life of me I have no idea why it thought I should be interested in this:
how strange but there it is, Diana arrived home in the afternoon, so feet up for a coffee and a chat, after our evening meal a couple from the Antiques Road trip, before a double helping of
the Netflix series Vikings, which we are really enjoying, two episodes later and we were off to bed.
