so another day of only one post,
I have a appointment at the doctors to give my annual sample of blood for all of the usual tests, back to Wednesday, out into a cold grey day,
onto the number 54 bus, unfortunaly the windows had condensation on them,
which fooled my telephones camera, past the Homebase which is closing for good by Peter Pan's Pool, as the stores go into administration,
as usual a stop at the garage to change drivers,
round the Lewisham one way system, to Blackheath station,
but bad news at the station, the through train to Gravesend had been cancelled, but as I stepped onto the platform the Dartford train arrived, only a 18 minuet wait for the Gravesend train at Dartford, which was then cancelled! so another 30 minute wait for the next one to Gravesend, the excuse announced over the stations loudspeakers was 'lack of drivers', the average train driver salary in the UK is £48,500 per year. Train drivers can expect to begin with an average starting salary of
£30,000, with the highest salaries often exceeding £65,000 I would have thought with wages like that there would be no shortage of drivers, but there it is, there is a shortage of train drivers!
so plenty of time to look at the fountain in the pond over the road from the station,
in Gravesend grey skies, and cold, but no rain which was a bonus I guess,
off of the 483 bus and a walk up the hill to the nursing home where Duncan stays,
and into the home, Duncan was far better than last week, he was awake and having a tea, Diana had bought some strawberries that he likes, so we sat chatting away as he had a few of those, but after 25 minutes or so Mr. Sleep paid him a visit, I woke him up a few times, but eventually he went into a deep sleep, so warm clothes back on,
and I made my way to the bus stop and off at the station, where I was in luck a train was going straight through to Blackheath, so no changing trains at Dartford,
on to the number 54 bus back to Beckenham, the stock of paving slabs in the High Street in Lewisham never seems to be going down,
work continuing further along the road,
the bee garden on top of this bus shelter,
doing well, unfortunaly the only one of two that seems to have survived,
off of the bus and into the park, going past Foxgrove Lodge the Christmas tree in the garden a welcome sight,
Diana arrived home shortly after me, with a huge kebab,
'Cheers!', with a sherry, Diana had our meal on the table so quick I did not have time for a read with my sherry,
Diana had also bought some gingerbread men, thankfully the PC brigade have not yet decided they should be renamed, as gingerbread person of indeterminable sex,
which Diana enjoyed as we watched a Midsomer Murder, before Diana was off to bed, for myself one from Have I Got A Bit More News For You, after which I too was off to bed.
