but in the morning after completing the blog we settled down to watch Excalibur whilst waiting for the camera battery to finish charging, great film, great music, as a reviewer commented 'the film has violence, sex, myth, drama, intrigue, heroics, pathos, and aspirations to art, all in the best senses of those terms'

then the first of three of The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes, The Mysterious Death on the Underground Railway, a lady traveler is poisoned in full daylight, but by who and why? followed by Five Hundred Carats, set at one of the De Beers mines a large diamond goes missing, lastly Cell 13, Holmes claims he can escape a maximum security cell in one week after being searched and given no special privileges, finally off to bed.

As a fellow train fan you may like a free internet magazine called Railway Herald. Easy to download (in the U K) or just view.
Dear Jim Lee, it is now on my favorites list, I have already downloaded it and look forward to reading it over the course of the day, many thanks, best regards, Stan and Diana.
Hi Stan, top notch blog, as ever ..
On the subject of Sherlock Holmes, BBC1 in the UK has a new '21st century' re-telling of Holmes in a new series called "Sherlock". The first of three pilot episodes was shown on Sunday, and I found it thoroughly entertaining.
