Blog Posted,

I was out before Diana,

driving down to visit Duncan, arriving at the nursing home where he stays it was a tad overcast, happily he was much better than last week, wide awake and chatting away, also his appetite had returned as he tucked into salt & vinegar crisps and some cherries,

when his lunch arrived we said our farewells and I made a move for home,

in the afternoon I played with this photograph, eventually deciding it was nice enough to put up on our wall in the future,

then time for my evening meal, but first a read and a sherry,

and a 'Cheers!', as I tucked into bangers & mash, after which the usual Outback Opal Hunters and a Deadliest Catch, which I followed with a film, a black & white from 1952,

Gift Horse AKA Glory at sea, the film was based on a true story, the actual raid undertaken in 1942 by H.M.S. Campbeltown, in which the ship, loaded with explosives, rammed and subsequently destroyed the dock gates at the French port of Saint-Nazaire. This was the only dry dock outside of Germany able to accept and repair the German battleships Tirpitz and Bismarck. Just as in this story, the Campbeltown was formerly a US Navy destroyer, the USS Buchanan, as the film finished Diana returned home, so feet up for a coffee and a spiced rum as well as a chat, before we watched a double helping of,

Black Books, so funny even though we have watched the series before, after which we were off to bed.
