Wodensborough Community Technology College which has banned children from riding to lessons because of fears over ‘health and safety'

but there is more to this story than at first meets the eye, the kids can ride to school but can not bring their bikes in to school grounds, the reason being that the entrance to the school is allegedly as Headmaster Ken Ellis said, 'to narrow' for teachers cars and the kids bikes, and he fears there may be an accident, (accidents in the drive way to the school so far? zero) the school has asked pupils to leave their bikes at the homes of family of friends who live nearby, after many were stolen after being left outside school grounds, (arn't you glad you do not live near Wodensborough Community Technology College, imagine picking you way out of your home with 40 or 50 kids bikes in the front yard!) I would have thought that riding to school would have benefited school children on three fronts, firstly I guess it would keep the kids fit, helping the school diabetes problem that so many kids suffer from to day, secondly cutting down on the number of 4 X 4 off road vehicles that that mums have to have that would clog up the area around the schools if bikes are not allowed, third and last, road craft, although I can not prove it I am sure that kids that regularly bike to school know more about driving, road conditions, etc, when it comes to them learning to drive a car than some one who has never been biking before, there is of course an answer to this problem, get the teachers, Headmaster Ken Ellis included to leave their cars at home and bike in, or maybe I am being a bit radical?
