First A Couple More Stamps For The Collection,

well 18 in fact, they are a slightly more modern set of 1958/9 Wildings with a crown watermark, printed on cream paper, all as they left the post office, fresh, unused and unmounted, the price? £7.50, Phil called around for a coffee or two and a chat, we talked about E-Bay, the good news is that there are so many bargains out there, another set of the stamps last night I paid £7.50 for I noticed had now reached £42.00!
then round to Mike and Riza's also John was there having a tea and a chat,
meanwhile the cat was taking things easy,
we were then off, to a once a year weekend market,
clothes, food and household goods were in abundance,
did I mention food? well there was so much of it it needs a second mention!
I am not sure if this is correct, but it is billed as the longest temporary market in the world, it goes down both sides of a full size airport runway and then both sides back again, then double that on the other side where all of the fresh produce, plants, fish, cats and dogs are sold, it is huge!
some of the runway start markers, it is just on the other side of the tracks at Laem Chabang going away from the port, a relic I guess from the Vietnam war era, then amongst this huge crowd of people we bumped into Charisse, what a coincidence!
we are now making our way back to where we stated,
it was so hot we had to have a rest, all to soon it was getting dark and we had arranged to meet up with friends in the evening so it was time to head back home,
and get our glad rags on for a night on the town, did you notice Diana has her new shoes on she bought at today's market?
on our way down to Walking Street we bumped into Doc. Jeff relaxing with a hooker,
we meet up with Chanel and Eric, with Mr. Tony at the FLB bar,
it did not take Mr. Tony long!
known in his younger days at the Courtney Castle dance school as 'he of the quicksilver feet' he thrilled us all,
the band were from the Philippines and were very good as Mr. Tony commented on more than one occasion,
Chenel was really enjoying herself,
in fact all of the girls were,
then time for home, Diana had brought a shawl with her, some of the bars keep the airconditioning so low it gets really cold,
on our way to the motorbike taxi rank we watched the Turkish ice cream show,
the unwitting customer is offered an ice cream, but as if by magic it is dropped then reappears, only to be dropped again, great fun to watch,
then going past Goodfellers on the first floor balcony a group of their staff dance a few numbers,
Walking Street was absolutely packed,
the Cavern now has a new LED sign with the Flintstones adding to the stone age look,
then home for a game of Monopoly or three!
try to work out who is winning!
we also watched a couple of DVD's firstly Knowing, in the fall of 1959, for a time capsule, students draw pictures of life as they imagine it will be in 50 years, Lucinda, an odd child who hears voices, swiftly writes a long string of numbers, in 2009, the capsule is opened, then the end of the world as we know it Jim, great and I do mean great special effects,
I was surprised that Diana liked one of my old black and white sci-fi film so we watched another one, It Came From Out Of Space, One night, John and Ellen see a meteor crash in the desert, he looks into the crater to see a space ship which is then covered by a landslide, he tells his friends, at first John's story seems mad, until some of the townsfolk begin acting strange - as if they aren't really who they seem to be, then off to bed.

Dear Chanel, we too had a great time, I must take some dancing lessons from Mr. Tony before we all go out next time! best regards, Stan and Diana.
