Now Here Is Something To Do This Weekend,

as well as celebrate St. George's Day, have a look in your loft or cellar for some of these, vinyl records, it appears their value is on the up, Record Collector magazine has compiled a list of the best 51 records for investors and at the top is the ultra-rare withdrawn Sex Pistols single God Save the Queen on A&M Records, the label famously dumped the band before it was released and destroyed most of the copies, making it worth £8,000 today on the rare occasions a copy turns up, the Beatles debut Please Please Me is in second place at £3500, although pristine copies are believed to be worth much more,
also Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin, 1969, is going for £1,000, and top of the pops? well here is the list,
    • 1. Sex Pistols, God Save The Queen, 1977, £8,000
    • 2. The Beatles, Please Please Me, 1963, £3,500
    • 3. Hank Mobley, Hank Mobley, 1957, £2,000
    • 4. Wil Malone, Wil Malone, 1970, £1,500
    • 5. The Rolling Stones, The Rolling Stones, 1964, £1,000
    • 6. Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin, 1969, £1,000
    • 7. Dr Z, Three Parts To My Soul, 1971, £1,000
    • 8. The Open Mind, The Open Mind, 1969, £750
    • 9. Agincourt, Fly Away, 1970, £700
    • 10. Mr Magic, Kazoo's/Dance To The Drummer's Beat 12in, 1982, £500

I must admit there are a few there I have not heard off, but what the heck, let the treasure hunt begin! as an aside St. George's Day is on 23 April, it is England's national day, naturally Diana and myself will be celebrating!
