Road Safety,

is an issue that effects us all worldwide,

motor manufactures increasingly are striving to make our vehicles far safer than ever before, but what about making the roads safer? with the financial constraints that many agencies have to bare, street lighting on less under used roads must be a choice for finical cuts, but here is a neat idea from construction group Heijmans

a 500 meter stretch of highway near Oss has become the first in the country to have its markings made from light-absorbing paint which glows in the dark, the paint was developed by construction group Heijmans and absorbs light during the day, it then glows for up to eight hours, showing motorists where the edge of the road is and other key markings, the 'glowing lines' project was devised by artist Daan Roosegaarde, who says the paint is a good option now some road lighting is being switched off at night, this is not the only idea for making roads safer, have a look here for some more.
