as if there is any doubt it was the alligator,

police in Port St Lucie, Florida, were pursuing Rodriguez for a rash of stolen Hondas and Acuras and say they spotted him shortly before he hit the aligator, police believe Rodrigues stole five cars using a “shaved key” which can open a door and turn on an engine in an older Honda or Acura, 

 the arrest report makes for a good read, unfortunately the alligator’s condition is not known as it fled the scene of the crime, an offence surely?
