Dr. Glass telephoned to say our rear screen was now in stock,
so into the truck and I was off,
the screen had already started to collapse,
and every bump in the road seemed to make it worse,
but it stayed in place by the time I arrived,
then work started,
the new screen to be fitted,
the old screen and rubber surround were removed and an industrial sized vacuum cleaner was used to pick up every last piece of glass,
the rubber fitted to the new screen,
then a piece of rope fitted into the rubber surround,
meanwhile tape was placed in the truck where the window would be,
taping nearly done, the wire is to be connected to the demisting cables in the screen but next time I use it I will remember to turn it off!
although not needed for the fitting of our screen I took a picture of this silicone gun, I had never seen a electrically powered one before,
the rear part on top of the bed of the truck was slightly undone to allow the screen to go between it and the cab,
the rope around the rubber surround was removed,
and hey presto it was done,
a final inspection and the electrical wires connected and all was well,
and then the rear screen was given a clean,
Dr. Glass has a huge stock, but even out of stock items like our screen can be ordered and in our case just a few days latter it arrived,
and a view of the stock through our new screen, it all took about 40 minutes from start to finish, the cost I thought was a very reasonable 1,800 baht,
the shops card, Dr. Glass in case you need him is on the Sumkivitt Road, drive towards Bangkok, and go past the turn off that leads to the Regents school, at the next set of traffic lights do a U turn and he is about 400 meters along on the left hand side, but do notice he closes on Monday, but is open Tuesday to Sunday,
every couple of weeks when we go fishing with Nick and Maureen we have a game of monopoly in the evening, so I decided to make a custom board that Nick and Maureen could keep at their home,
so instead of railway stations we have brewery's and our own sets of houses on some properties,
for Diana I renamed the utilities as McDonald's and KFC, I also printed new cards so that all of the titles would match up,
then in the evening Mr. Tony and Booie picked us up and we were off to Cherry's, for our evening meal,
a bit of bubbly to start the evening,
it was Mr. Tony's birthday on Monday,
but he decided to wait for the International buffet here to celebrate it,
birthday boy!
as usual the buffet was fully stocked, decisions, decisions as to what to chose,
we were also joined by Slim Jim this evening,
'Cheers!' from all of us,
Booie chose food from the menu,
whilst we all went with the buffet,
Diana's starter,
then on to the main courses,
for myself chicken, baked salmon and lamb, followed by a selection of ice creams, diet starts tomorrow! Cherry's is located on Third Road opposite what was once the Ex-cite disco, many thanks to Mr. Tony for treating us to a lovely evening out, after dropping us off home we said our goodbyes then feet up for a couple from Bones, then we were off to bed.
