There Is Paper And There Is Paper,

some thinner than others,

but artist Bovey Lee uses a really thin rice paper, to make her art,

she cuts intricate scenes of plants, roads, people, and architecture with an impressive array of cutting implements,

her pictures are so fine that they have to be mounted on a silk background before they can be hung on a wall,

you can see more of her work here, as an aside there are several types of rice paper, none of which are made from rice! the paper is made from the pith of the rice paper plant, (Tetrapanax papyrifer), I have to admit when ever I think of rice paper I always think of the paper used on the base of a macaroon, but going back to her work, what an eye for detail she must have.
