Straight On With Today's Post For Two Reasons,

firstly there are lots of pictures,

but also I am having an early breakfast with Glenn, so off to the pet and aquatic market in Bangkok for another visit, I decided to take a few pictures of some of the buildings as we speed past,

the camera has a setting that allows it to focus through the glass in the car window,

 which is quite neat,

as with my previous cameras it was a bit of a hit or miss affair as to whether it would focus on the building or the dirt on the window,

but the setting worked really well,

  inside,

and out, I have made this picture a bit larger so you can see that at that setting it also froze the cars wheels as well as keeping the building sharp, not bad when you think we are travelling at I guess 60 or 70 KPH, just think how fast the wheels of the car must be going round,

there was still lots of construction on the way in,

but we soon arrived at the market, where in this shop some spring cleaning was going on,

we parked on the fourth floor, so a quick panorama of the market from there,

then inside JJ Market for breakfast,

 lots of jolly figures,

there is a strict No Photo rule inside, but I had to take a quick couple to show what it is like, in truth you could almost spend the whole day in just this store,

I had to take a picture down this aisle for what was at the end of it,

 breakfast!

 one of Diana's favourites,

 two 89 baht specials,

 chips gone chicken next,

followed by an ice cream, perfect!

 then into the aquatic market,

we walked along one of the many aisles,

we were actually heading towards the trade section, where fish are prepacked,

and you buy goods in bulk,

this is where most shops buy their stock from,

everywhere you look sellers sitting by bags,

 and bags of fish,

which is fine if you want a lot of the same type of fish,

the exception is crayfish or yabbies as they are sometimes known, also large fish are sold singly, Diana decided on two of each red and blue yabbies,

we decided to buy a couple of bulk bags of fish,

but which?

the problem was there were so many to chose from,

on the outside of the bags the numbers and prices are displayed, for instance small fish 100 X 3, 100 fish at 3 baht each = 300 baht for the bag, or 50 X 5, 50 fish at 5 baht each,

for lager fish like these 10 X 55, again 10 fish at 55 baht each,

there is another option, a bag of mixed sizes of the same type of fish with just the price, we actually bought a bag of red wag platys (Xiphophorus maculatus) I am guessing about 80 of them, the bag 100 baht, we also bought a bag of 50 guppies at 5 baht each,

but for smaller quantities of fish we went to some of the many aquatic stores when fish can be purchased individually,

 I want that one!

we made our way along the aisles,

 looking into various shops,

and buying a few more fish here and there,

 a few aquatic decorations,

 and more yabbies,

we made our way back to the other aquatic section weighed down with fish and water,

now why is it that our mini orange tree never has as many fruits as this one?

I can still remember when televisions were in cabinets like this,

 so why not recycle them?

the colours of the aquarium gravels are so bright,

if you like them a choice will be a difficult one,

you can also go for coloured glass marbles or pebbles,

it always amazes me the amount of work that goes into these bird cages, for just 390 baht,

or this bird trap for 320 baht,

we then bumped into Diana's friend,

 the 'tame' market goose,

Diana always gives it a wide berth,

but it decided to show me the way to the next row of aquatic stalls,

mission over and off he went,

we will be calling back to this stall for a ice coffee later,

 past the candied fruits,

to the store called All Fish,

I started to have a look see,

then got totally captivated and lost all track of time,

so Diana took a few pictures of the bird store opposite,

we also had a look at some of the puppies for sale, we asked the price of one a huge dog from Siberia, I believe it was a large Malamute, at just 3 months old it was huge, if you like the breed here are some prices,

before making a move for home we stopped opposite the markets shrine,

 a water for Diana,

 an ice coffee for myself,

one of the mobile fruit sellers came past just as we were leaving,

then home to put the fish in their new home, Diana decided to take a video of them,

complete with the red and blue crayfish, after our evening meal we watched some television on TMN, as a nightcap two episodes from LA Law, then for us we were off to bed.
