Straight On With Today's Post,

as we are up early and going fishing,

some time ago we were driving along just past Soi Siam Country Club Road,

when I saw a shop with the name Benelli on the side of it,

  I thought I was dreaming,

but I was not, also Mr. Tony confirmed it was there,

the showroom was packed with brand new Benelli's

I remember the brand from my motorcycling days back in the 1960s and 70s,

but they have changed a lot since then! today look at this 600cc,

 or this huge 899cc machine,

 the heart of the beast,

 so many to chose from,

 the charming sales assistant,

very kindly gave me this brochure,

 which was beautifully printed,

and packed with information, the 600cc machine featured above sells for 295,000 baht,

or if you want the big boys toy,

the 899cc machine is 569,000 baht

on the wall there is a history of the Benelli stable, on it the two machines I remember and lusted after from the early 1970s, firstly the Benelli 750 Sei first produced in 1972, this one a customised 1976 Benelli 750 Sei with as in 1972, wait for it, 6 cylinders mounted across the frame, what a beauty! and if that was not enough a few years later they pumped it out to make the 900 Sei, it may seem strange that these 6 cylinder bikes were produced, but back then you actually had the choice of 3 manufactures producing 6 cylinder motorcycles the Honda CBX 1000  the Kawasaki KZ1300 and the Sei 750 which was then upgraded and became the Benelii Sei 900, for a comparison of all three have a look here, back to Benelli Pattaya, the shop is just past the big electrical store Numchai, next to and on the same side as Soi Siam Country Club Road, what a great shop,

later in the afternoon we were out to the local market,

I always give stalls like this a wide berth, it is just something about that boiling oil being so close,

 fresh limes for Friday night,

we were quite early, so many of the stalls were not ready for sales,

so Diana chose the pick of the crop,

 mushrooms in abundance,

 as well as papaya,

 and banana flowers,

many of the stall owners had not yet arrived as we made our way out of the market, it does not really get busy for another hour or so,

next home, feet up for a film then shower and change and we were out with Mr. Tony,

to Cherry's for their Wednesday and Saturday night International buffet,

 complimentary bread rolls and starters,

 'Cheers!',

a quick look at two of,

 Diana's favourites,

lots of sauces to chose from,

as well as the carvery there is a section for bar-b-q food,

 a second round of starters,

pizza and spaghetti bolognese for Diana,

smoked salmon and a selection of meats for myself,

there are of course lots of other dishes to chose from like these mussels and baked salmon,

and the sign that says it all, the International buffet is 399 baht, Cherry's is on Third Road opposite what was once the X-Cite disco,

then to finish one of the 12 or so desserts to chose from, plus 6 different flavoured ice creams from the ice cream chest, a great meal, Mr. Tony very kindly dropped us off and we said our goodbyes,

during the day we watched Ray, a film following the life of Ray Charles Robinson, very watchable and moving as he struggled with his early life and inner demons, but back to the evening we watched some television, next for us we were off to bed.
