Fishing Today,

and we were blessed with good weather,

lots of cloud, so it was not too hot,

which thinned out every so often,

unfortunately for us the fish were not biting,

so Nick changed tactics, and went for the big ones,

 and was successful,

 and caught three of them,

the last the biggest of them them all,

I caught just two small fish, neither of which we ate,

so the girls had to ordered food from the kitchen, which was very good and reasonably priced, if you fancy a day out the Paifon Fishing Park is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the Soi from Sukhumvitt, once in the Soi go over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom of it you will see a big pink building on the left where we normally turn right into the old fishing park, do not turn right, keep going until you see Soi 24 and turn right, there is a 7-11 on the corner, continue for about a mile it is past Soi 14, the concrete road comes to a strange cross road,

take the one with the sign (above) on it and the park is on the left hand side, the cost for fishing, numerous beers, a couple of soft drinks, food and bait came to 1,268 baht for the 4 of us, what a great day out, we stopped of at Nick and Maureen's for a coffee,

 and admired their coconut palms,

 which were now fruiting,

and they gave a couple to Diana to take home,

also looking nice, the frangipani,

or Plumeria, as they are sometimes known, as an aside frangipani trees are considered bad luck in Thai homes because of superstitious associations with the plant's Thai name, lantom, which is similar to ratom, the Thai word for sorrow, as a result, frangipanis were thought to bring unhappiness, but if you are not either superstitious or Thai it is not considered a problem, we thanked Nick and Maureen fro the coffee, cake and coconuts and made a move for home, where we watched a few from Top Gear and rounded the evening off with Tipping Point and The Chase and with that we were off to bed.
