were both passionate about 18th-century France,
and when he decided to give his wife a gift, what better than a car that reflected their love of that period of France?
in 1926 he approached Rolls-Royce and bought a unbodied chassis,
he then hired
the best designers and craftsmen to customize the car he wanted to give to his
wife, 10 months later, the Phantom of Love was ready, and here it is, the story is here, I have to say, it is just a tad over the top for myself, but the good news is that the car is still with us, in 2016 it was auctioned for €800,000 at todays rate £690,868 or $959,800, if you want to buy the car, all you will have to do is wait until it comes up at auction again.
