all photograph Triangle News, this headline appeared in a National newspaper, as it happens the highest circulation paid-for print newspaper in the UK the Daily Mail, the box section above on the main A222 between Bromley and Croydon, the headline:
Bromley Council making a fortune out of motorist, and yes Bromley is the Council I live in! I would have guessed that the money would be used to repair the roads, but apparently that is not the case, potholes in the borough are now so bad you can book guided tours around the worst if them, this headline in the same newspaper yesterday:
"Motorist who is fed-up with potholes in his area has set up an official TOUR taking tourists to the biggest craters plaguing his local roads - but it will set you back £80 (including lunch)"
and here he is,
Steve Bell, 55, is charging locals and visitors £80 for the tour of
potholes around Bromley, south east London, including a personal favourite
which he has named 'the Big Dipper',
the father-of-two came up with the idea after he was
constantly having to 'dodge and weave past potholes' in his vehicle, which he
uses a lot for his family as a full-time carer,
Mr Bell said he will give locals and tourists the inside
info on the state of the borough's roads, even taking a ruler with him to
measure their depth, no mention is made of where the lunch will tale place, Bromley Council admitted it is struggling to keep up with
the number of repairs needed, with 70 a day currently being filled in, the council where I live, making National news headlines twice in under a week, for all of the wrong reasons!
