MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!

this year has just flown past,

for the next few days I will just be making a small post on each day, as you will all be busy as well as us, back to Tuesday, I was out to visit Duncan, the day bright for a change,

onto the number 54 bus, as I had presents for Duncan and the staff at the nursing home where he stays, I had two full shopping bags, so I had a seat downstairs, past Peter Pan's Pool,

a change of drivers at the bus garage,

round the one way system in Lewisham,

at Blackheath station I was in luck, a through train to Gravesend, so no changing at Dartford, Diana had asked if I could pick up a aluminium turkey sized baking tray whilst in Gravesend, into TESCO, sold out, next B & M sold out,

I was advised to go into the shopping centre and try Poundland, but again no luck,

but there was a Home & Fashion House next door having a closing down sale, so I popped in there, success!, they had huge trays in there, so I bought two of them, as it happens they looked a bit big, so I asked if they would fit in a normal oven and was assured that they would,

back to the station to wait for the bus,

on and off of a 483 and I was walking up the hill to visit Duncan,

it had clouded over a tad in the hour or so it took me on the train to reach Gravesend,

into the home where it was bad news, like a few weeks ago Duncan was in a deep sleep, he could not wake up, maybe it is a change in his medication? not being a member of the family I will never know, but it was a shame, I left his Christmas presents and his usual treats in his room, on the way out I asked one of the nurses if they could help him tomorrow unwrap his presents,

out of the home, I started walking to the bus stop,

the apple tree bare, hopefully it will have a few more apples on it next year,

off of the bus and onto platform 0, again I was in luck, a through train to Blackheath,

out of the station and onto a number 54 bus, which was packed, Christmas shoppers I suppose, going through Lewisham the Christmas tree now illuminated,

a walk past the snail mail box and I was home, after a quiz show on television it was time for our evening meal,

but first a read and a sherry, and then a bit of bad news, I thought the turkey baking trays looked a bit big, and they were! there was no way they would fit into our oven, and of course as they were in a sale, no refunds, just our luck!

for our starter tonight king prawns on avocado,

time to tuck in,

then a few slices of brisket, which was so tender and tasty,

'Cheers!',

getting into the Christmas sprit a couple of last years crackers that were left over,

and naturally the hats, a year on the jokes in the crackers had not improved!

back to the table for dessert,

a sherry trifle, delicious, after which we had a double helping of Vikings before we were off to bed.
