Life's A Beach When You Get Caught Out!

first take a land locked state, Alberta, reinvent it and give it a beach, print loads of brochures, put it on the official Alberta tourism web site, saying how nice it is to go there but wait, a fatal flaw in the plan, the picture is of a beach in the UK! it is in fact Beadnell Bay, Northumberland, 5,000 miles away, the beach appears as part of a new $25-million campaign to promote Alberta, while the Alberta government admitted that it had “screwed up”, it insisted that there had been “no attempt to make people think that the place pictured was Alberta”, the location represented Albertans’ interest in the world around them, they said,

So far away: Alberta is 5,000 miles from Northumberland

I guess following the last statement the Alberta tourism authority will be featuring Victoria Falls, the Great Barrier Reef and the tower of Big Ben in future campaigns!
