Going, Going, Gone!

if you were thinking of buying the blue diamond I mentioned in a previous post you are to late! the flawless blue diamond weighing 7.03 carats has sold for a record £6.21million, the highest price paid per carat for any gemstone at auction according to David Bennett, chairman of the firm's jewellery department in Europe and the Middle East, 'This is already a new world record price for a fancy vivid blue diamond and a new world record per carat for any gemstone (at auction),' said Mr Bennett, the final price includes a commission paid by the buyer to the auction house, the stone sets a record price per carat for any gemstone sold at auction of £883,866, Sotheby's said, if I was in Africa at that price I would grab a shovel and start digging!
