Not So Many Of Us This Week,

on our Saturday get together,
but we still all had a good time! first to arrive was Jay and Precil,
followed by Mark who brought all of the ingredients along to make a superb salad, which he made himself,
Jay chilling out,
Mick and Mass were the next to arrive, Mass was going to make a Thai chicken curry for the girls, but it smelt so nice some of it found it's way upstairs,
Big Jim made a huge potato and egg salad,
Anchisa, Precil and Mass having a cooking fest,
squid and prawns ready for the pot,
Mass's chicken curry on the go,
meanwhile Diana is busy with the bar-b-q,
then Mike and Riza arrived with a huge bottle of wine and the food was served,
fresh mantis shrimps,
this was the girls table downstairs,
and then time to eat! after that we settled down to our usual Saturday night discussion, notably about air starters for diesel engines, Mark (Royal Navy), Mick (Rolls Royce) and Mike (structural engineer) regaled us with stories from their collective past, then in a complete change of technology we talked about adze's
this is an early one, the adze was an essential component of the woodworker's tool kit, it was used to dress the wood, after its basic shape had been produced using a saw or axe, and this is one you can buy today, only £51.19 inc. VAT, however there was a little confusion over them and a spokeshave, so here are a couple of spokeshaves, as their name implies there were used to dress wood that made the spokes of a wheel used on a cart or on early cars, they can be flat, curved or concave, it was by now getting late, we said our goodbyes, again many thanks to everyone for helping with the evenings feast, then all to soon it was off to bed.
