We Were Going To Tepprihsit Market,

but first stop to pick up some jeans that Diana wanted to have altered,
the lady shares the shop with a guy that cuts keys,
opposite the temporary market where we sometimes buy bugs for Diana,
work has continued on the spirit house,
and a new on opposite has been started, it was just 5.30, so we were a little bit early, the stalls were still being set up,
all hands to the pumps!,
so we went down to the pet section, Mick saw a few nice puppies,
for me it was a look at the fish stalls,
each tank holds one Siamese fighting fish,
they are available in almost countless colours,
also bunnies,
one of the 4 or 5 fish stalls,
another view of it,
and my favorite flowers, orchids,
the next shop back to fish again,
looking along the same shop,
there are lots of cages like this, all hand made here in Thailand, they are for keeping song birds, rather like in the UK people keep canary's, the difference being that some of these singing birds out here change hands for hundreds of thousands of baht,
so Mick bought this one, it is not a bird cage, it is a trap, essentially you put a "bait" bird in the bottom, a mate is attracted to it and flies into the top of the trap, as it alights a lever is depressed by the weight of the bird and the trap is sprung, simple, I wonder if it will work on chickens?
it is now starting to get dark and the market is in full swing,
just opposite where we have our beer Honda had put up a stall to show of their new bike, the Scoopyo,
I guess they (Honda) had found out that the Nuovo and the Mio were taking some of their sales so Honda have brought out this model,
available in lots of colours,
and the new Wave was there as well,
in red and blue,
and the new bike pretty in pink!
and with extra lights,
well enough of all that it was time for a beer,
then the girls arrived from a hard nights shopping,
then a total surprise as Joe called in,
after finishing our beers it was back to 388 to watch a few DVD's,
unfortunately it was all to much for Mike who nodded off as Mr. Sleep called round,
but we all settled down to watch Mark Williams, On The Rails, a much underrated couple of DVD's (if you like steam engines!), then all home and for us off to bed.

Hi Stan, Excellent Blog as usual, well done.

My favourite tropical fish are 'Black Mollies'(Poecilia sphenops). Do you know if the Black Molly is readily available in Thailand?

Dear Anonymous, glad that you like the blog, yes black mollies (Poecilia sphenops) http://www.fishkeeping.co.uk/modules/caresheets/caresheet.php?caresheetID=97 are available out here in 4 varieties , for want of a better description 'normal' lyre tail, describing their tails, sail fin, an exaggerated dorsal fin and balloon, a laterally compressed body, also they are available in 3 colors black, gold and silver, Poecilia sphenops http://www.fishbase.org/summary/SpeciesSummary.php?id=4680 really means what most would say is the wild or liberty molly, those I have not seen out here, one of my favorite jaunts out here was going to the fish market with Joe, but has now moved to Bangkok, so I do not go to the market that often, but one day, I will be back! Sorry I do not know how to put a link to the 2 pages, just copy and past , I hope that is OK? best regards, Stan and Diana.
