Spiders, Snakes and Heights,
we all it would seem have phobias or irrational fears of certain things,
for me heights, but if it its spiders look out for the web of this one, it is a Nephila komaci, a member of the golden orb weaver family, it is a new, giant Nephila species and was found in Tembe National Elephant Park, South Africa, golden orb weavers are known for their large webs, which often exceed 1m in diameter, the picture above is of a giant golden orb-web Nephila inaurata, Rodrigues, Indian Ocean, by the way if you want to buy a few go here!
what is worse some of the family are big enough to eat birds, imagine walking into that on a dark night!

I believe it. We are an American family living in South Africa for a year. You wouldn't believe all the bugs, spiders, and snakes we have found in our home. Ironically, I just posted about it on my blog today.
Dear Candice, it is that same out here in Thailand, only last week a friend found a snake in his kitchen, a few weeks ago Nick and Maureen found one in the lock of their front garden door, but what amazed me was that if you are in the UK you can actually buy some of these baby orb spiders as pets, I just hope the cold UK winters stops them from living there! best regards, Stan and Diana.
