A Very Special Day Indeed,

3 birthdays to celebrate on one day, but first after being beaten again by Diana and her vice like grip on the housing market,
we put our glad rags on and made our way over to visit Alex and his family, it was his fathers 90th birthday, also as the dates were so close he was also celebrating his mothers birthday and his own,
the party was going to take place at the restaurant by the pool,
Alex like me in camera mode,
Diana, myself, Little Al, Mark and Alex's Mum and Dad,
inside the poolside restaurant,
Diana's delight, a chocolate birthday cake,
even better two of them!
one of the birthday boys,
Rose whose party it also is and the other birthday boy, Alex,
Alex had made a splendid job of laying on the food and drink,
which was prepared by Glen, excellent spring rolls as well as the other dishes,
'Cheers!', from me,
and from Diana,
there were lots of well wishers, with more on the balcony,
which I went out on to, I wanted to play with the zoom on the camera again, but at night time, a normal shot of the tower at Jomtien,
same shot but zoomed in a bit,
a bit more,
then maximum zoom for a hand held night shot, I was very impressed,
after eating so many appetizing dishes it was time for the cakes,
and of course Dom PĂ©rignon champagne for the toast, I explained to Diana this is what James Bond types drink,
then it was cake time!
Diana was in chocolate cake heaven!
the two waitresses Me and Kookie, who helped everything along,
Glen with the waitresses,
'Cheers!', from Glen who worked so hard to make the party such a success,
Alex and George,
Rose and Glen take to the floor,
birthday girl Rose,
and birthday boy himself Alex senior,
with the sash,
and Alex,
George, Little Al and Rose,
a merry time was had by all,
another well wisher congratulates Alex, then it was time for us to leave, a truly marvelous time was had by one and all and a big thank you to Alex for making it all happen,
during the day we watched a couple of DVD's firstly The Charge of the Light Brigade, a chronicle of events that led to the British involvement in the Crimean War against Russia and which led to the siege of Sevastopol and the fierce Battle of Balaclava on October 25, 1854 which climaxed with the heroic, but near-disastrous calvary charge made by the British Light Brigade against a Russian artillery battery, seeing the ineptitude of the British high command to seems a miracle any of out troops survived! but great film to watch even though we had seen it before,
Rameses: Wrath of God or Man? was next, it was repetitive, the story could have been told in about half the time it took, which is a shame as this documentary examines what historians know about the Bible's Old Testament account of the Plague of the Firstborn and about Egypt's Pharaoh, Rameses, Egyptologists discuss whether the pharaoh mentioned in the story is Rameses II or perhaps his eldest son, but now back from the party it was late and for us off to bed.
