We Had Nothing Planned For Today,

which was fortunate as it poured down with rain,
from first thing in the morning,
to late afternoon,
we settled in for another game of Monopoly, which I some how managed to win, also a few games of cribbage,
at last towards the evening the rain stopped, we needed some potatoes so a trip to the muddy market was in order,
lots of fresh vegetables for sale,
just mind the puddles,
a few peppers,
lots of ingredients whose names I do not know,
and lots I do know,
Diana wanted some sweet sticky rice to nibble on later in the evening,
and some fresh mango's, we really enjoy a mango slushy as we watch the television,
all paid and off for home,
during the day we watched both Predator, a team of special force ops, led by a tough but fair soldier, Major "Dutch" Schaefer, are ordered in to assist CIA man, George Dillon, on a rescue mission for potential survivors of a Helicopter downed over remote South American jungle, if you have not seen it the hunters become the hunted by a alien, great for it's time special effects, followed by Predator 2, LAPD lieutenant Mike Harrigan and his cocky detective partner Jerry Lambert soon realize that what seemed a bloody feud between voodoo high priest King Willie's Jamaican gangs and Ramon Vega's Colombian drug gang is actually the work of a scary third party, you guessed it, the alien from the first movie changes the scene from jungle jungle to urban jungle,
for a change of pace we started on the MI-5 Spooks series, Episode #1.1, twenty high-explosive devices are smuggled into England, when the first goes off killing a doctor and severely injuring her young daughter the hunt is on for the others, Episode #1.2, racial tensions in Britain continue to rise and the team pieces together an organized attempt to stir up problems for political gain,
we did quiet enjoy that although the mental competence of some of their decisions left a little to be desired, so we watched the next two, Episode #1.3, Zoe is undercover on a routine op, pretending to be a PR agent hoping to land a contract with the Turkish government, She winds up a hostage - along with dozens of others - when a group of Kurds take over the Turkish embassy and demand the release of political prisoners, shades of the 1980 embassy siege in London, there are two shows on each disc, Episode #1.4, during riots in advance of US President Bush's visit to London, the MI-5 team observe Peter Salter among the agitators, Salter is a legendary agent and neither Zoe or Danny are quite sure what to do, well one person does!
well we had to watch the next one, Episode #1.5, a former MP, imprisoned years before in an arms-dealing scandal, claims to have a damaging memoir ready to go to press, but losses it, lastly Episode #1.6, Patrick McCann, the leader of an Irish splinter group walks into a safe house and insists that he has crucial information for MI5 concerning their investigation on an Middle East terrorist group called Asabiyah, but a deal has to be struck for the information, what did we think of the series so far? well whilst it was good watching on many occasions the people that work for MI-5 in this series are idiots, just two of the many dumb things that happened, taking as a gift a laptop from one of the most vicious terrorist they know then being surprised when it has a bomb in it, or accepting a £10,000 cash bung from a college and not reporting it, thinking about it I know the reason, every episode has to have a dumb moment when intelligence is replaced by stupidity, which is a shame as apart from the deliberate mistake in every episode it is a good show, but for now we are off to bed.
