even the YMCA fell foul of Brussels when it's Peterborough branch was fined £1,325, after failing to display the correct material on leaflets, the National Museum of Labour History in Manchester was hit with a £7,233 fine after officials realised there was no logo on a billboard, Merseytravel was fined £13,600 for ‘insufficient publicity’ at the start of a project, while Sandwell Council’s failure to acknowledge the EU or display logos led to a £5,046 penalty, the thing I do not understand is why the UK pays £6.4billion more to Brussels than it received back, then to add insult to injury they fine us for not flying the flag! I wonder if these same officials are walking around say, Greece, France, Spain and lets say Portugal and Ireland handing out fines as they go?

Britain Must Fly The Flag,
our masters in Brussels have spoken,
for me I have never found a compelling reason to join the EU, let alone take on it's ailing currency, but here is a fact of membership I did not know, it is that Brussels penalises UK museums, firms and councils financially if they do not fly the EU flag, for instance, Advantage West Midlands, a regional development agency, was fined £201,801 for not using the EU logo on publicity material promoting the region to tourists and investors, Birmingham Chambers of Commerce was hit with a £77,609 penalty for using its corporate branding rather than EU logos at an event, but wait a second it was for corporate branding, not a show case for Brussels,
