It Is Official!

a glass of wine a day strengthens the bones,

according to a study looking at the relationship between diet and bone density, moderate amounts of the alcoholic beverage can reduce the risk of osteoporosis, other alcoholic drinks, such as beer and spirits, fail to have the same effect, it's not clear how wine can build bone strength but previous research suggests it may be due to chemicals, called polyphenols, found in the skin of grapes rather than the alcohol it contains, this study supports smaller studies that claim alcohol might have a protective effect,

although heavy drinking is known to be a major risk factor for weak bones, (I guess that's called falling over), the good news is that my bones must be several times stronger than they were, I hope!
