We Are Out For Breakfast,

so straight on with yesterdays post,

cloudy skies meant a gloomy start to the night market,

I wanted to buy another set of lights, it is nice just to have a little background light whilst watching the television, these though are a little smaller, 300 baht for the lights and base as opposed to 500 baht in TukCom,

not many stalls opposite the bar tonight,

 then the rain started,

even the food aisles were empty,

then the rain really started, good job I was in the bar!

Diana had been popping over to one of the nearby handbag stalls, well she was down to 10 handbags so another one just had to be bought!

then Juu arrived with his wife and a cousin of hers, so the girls were off on another shopping fest,

then another friend called by, Craig,

 and his wife Porn,

next a friend of Craig's, Phil arrived it was going to be a party!

the girls came back from shopping loaded with fruit, so Diana went shopping for apples and mango's, but came back with pomegranates and a handbag, oh well better luck next week!

the new light looks fine, not too bright, just enough for background lighting,

during the day we watched King Kong, I did not know that there was a 3 hour+ version of it so we watched that one, not the theater release, Carl Denham needs to finish his movie and has the perfect location; Skull Island, but he still needs to find a leading lady, this 'soon-to-be-unfortunate' soul is Ann Darrow, the rest as they say is history, well in the movies,

and now for something completely different, Alexander Nevsky, made in 1932 by legendary film maker Sergei Mikhailovich Eisenstein, black and white of course so Diana did not like it at all, but for me a truly great movie although not considered by many to be his best, (that was Battleship Potemkin made in 1925), but back to Alexander, it is the 13th century, and Russia is overrun by foreign invaders, a Russian knyaz', or prince, Alexander Nevsky, rallies the people to form a ragtag army to drive back the invasion, the battle of Novgorod did in fact take place and is the center piece of the film,

to round the evening off a new series from an old favorite, New Tricks series 7, Dead Man Talking, in the first we watched this evening, Vicky Anderson asks Sandra and the team to intervene in finding the intruder her father died of a heart attack confronting, since clairvoyant Sebastian Carter, having supposedly communed with the dead man, claims he knew the assailant, followed by It Smells of Books, the London Library keeps having it's books stolen, as the value of the books goes up so does the price, till some pays with his life, but where do the books go? I must have enjoyed seeing the show again, I woke up this morning singing the theme tune to myself, but back to last night, with that we were off to bed.
