it would have been better fun had Nathan Adams caught this potential record breaking tuna when his boat was registered to catch it, but as it was not he will not get a penny for the 335kg bluefin tuna, it appears the fish was landed in the one month of each year Nathan de-registers his boat with the authorities, to allow him to fish for protected marlin, as it is illegal to sell fish caught from an unregistered fishing boat, Nathan is not allowed to profit from the whopper, in January this year a 269kg bluefin caught off the coast of Japan sold for around £500,000, still at least it will look good on the wall and the local cats around the taxidermist will be fat for a few weeks!
if you want to try for one yourself a trip to Houhora, off Northland's east coast of New Zealand might do it as that is where he caught the fish.
