Today Is The Big Day,

Great Britain starts four days of countrywide celebrations,

 street parties will take place all over the UK as families and friends celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee, but it is today, when the eyes of the world turn to the Thames as the Queen sets sail in her Royal barge, the Spirit of Chartwell, that the Diamond Jubilee celebrations begin in earnest,

 but on land there will of course be all of the pomp and ceremony that this special occasion demands,

as the bands make their way along the Mall, hold on is that Diana in the picture? well yes, I cheated a bit and used a couple of pictures of our visit to the UK in September 2010, these taken on our visit to Buckingham Palace for the changing of the guards, I have to admit we both wish we were in the UK for this weekend, but we will follow the events in the UK with BBC television as the day progresses.
