If You Have Ever Visited The Ice Hotel,

in the north Swedish town of Jukkasjarvi, 

you can now sleep more soundly if you stay there as it has now followed the orders of Sweedens National Housing Board (Boverket) and fitted fire alarms, The Ice Hotel, is rebuilt every year in northern Sweden out of enormous chunks of ice from the Torne River in Jukkasjärvi, at the beginning of spring the hotel melts, so as a new design is created every year it means it needs to abide by the rules that apply to every new building,

'we were a little surprised when we found out,' hotel spokeswoman Beatrice Karlsson commented, 'but we do understand, safety is a primary concern for us, there are indeed things that can catch fire, like the reindeer skins, the mattresses, and the pillows', I have to say that I always thought that reindeer like cow skins do not catch fire, which is why in times of old the skins were used on ancient siege machines to shield the wooden structure as they do not readily burn, still it is nice to know that a water sprinkler system will be installed to stop the hotel from burning down,

but the alarms since installation have sounded once, 'it went off once, but when the supervisor came down it turned out it was just one of our guests who’d snuck off to the cleaning closet and had a cigarette,' explained  Karlsson, so even if the alarms are never used in their intended capacity, at least Icehotel will remain smoke free.
