We Were Up Early,

for our first morning in Koh Chang,

so from the rear of Paddy's Palms,

we made our way towards the front of the building for breakfast, fresh eggs being delivered,

 past the sign,

on the main road, the good news was that as we were at the rear of the complex there was no noise from the bar,

we then decided to take a walk along the main streets passing a new building being built,

the good news was that health and safety flip flops were being used,

we then arrived at the beach,

where some one had built a sandcastle,

so it was feet up for the afternoon,

where we relaxed for the afternoon,

meanwhile the tide was coming in,

and this was where we were,

under one of the huge trees,

 that grow along the breach,

meanwhile the tide was communing in, the sandcastle had to be defended,

then a strange noise descended over the beach,

I noticed this guy looking into a console,

I was not quite sure what it was till I took this picture, if you look carefully on the right you can see it,

 and there it was,

a spy in the sky,

so I guess the operator can have a look at anything that takes his fancy, (I think it was his girlfriend),

 then picture taking over,

 it was back to base,

then the bain of beaches in most places in the world, a pack of wild dogs took over, the larger of the two dogs attacked a Russian family until one of the beach deck chair vendors chased the dogs away, but not before one of the family's children was severely upset,

after the excitement it was a beer for me,

and a dip, in the briny for Nick,

I should say lots of vendors called past,

but Diana paid them no attention,

another beer or two and we were on our way back to the hotel,

the view looking towards the hotel,

and where we had just walk from,

past one of the fresh fruit stalls,

then just as we arrived at the hotel,

 the heavens opened up,

and I mean really opened up,

in the bar opposite the ladies were sitting on the bar with their feet on the bar stools,

the run off was so fast it almost took a few bikes down the road,

 then a real delight,

as the rain stopped a few real motorbikes arrived,

 all from Pattaya,

this is the one for me, a Ducati,

having said that a Triumph would be another best favourite of mine,

and I would certainly not turn down this Kawasaki,

so I just had to have a go,

as did Diana, we had a chat with the owners, all of which live in Pattaya, and listen to this, one of the owners of these super bikes had just bought his Ducati this morning and where did he and his friends decided to drive today to try it out? here all the way to Koh Chang!

then we were in to Paddy's Palms for our evening meal,

fish and chips for Maureen,

and Nick,

 spaghetti for Diana,

whilst I decided on a Irish lamb stew,

so it was 'Cheers!', from all, of us,

then the group started playing, the duo were excellent,

and became even better when Frank I believe his name was joined them,

the evening then went for me into overdrive when a gentleman from Germany joined the group, the evening took a unexpected turn as I almost believed that the legendary J.J Cale  had taken the stage,

he was so talented and sounded just like the legend,

and imagine my surprise when I found out his nickname was actually J.J.

so if you are in Koh Chang and want a great nights entertainment, a pleasant place to stay, not to mention great food pop into Paddy's Palms, as an aside how many times can you use a letter 'e' in one word?

next door to Paddy's we spotted this sign,

so I guess the answer is 6, but enough of this, for us we were off to bed, we have a busy day tomorrow.
