There Did Not Seem To Be,

much that we found interesting, amusing or just plain weird,

in the news today so on with the post, we were up early to go fishing with Nick and Maureen,

we were at the normal fishing park we go to, work on the new jetty had been completed,

connecting it to what was left of the old jetty that had not collapsed,

after some time the first fish went to me, a keeper as it was one of the ones we like to eat,

looking to one side of the lake it was a bit cloudy,

I then spotted on the far shore this heron so I zoomed in on it,

and went to the cameras maximum zoom,

and saw that there was a Kingfisher in the frame too!

a close up of the heron,

and the Kingfisher,

by now the first fish of the day had made it's way to the kitchen and had been prepared,

so Diana helped serve the fish,

next the second keeper of the day,

and so the day went on, by now the score was 7-0 to me, then Diana tried her hand at catching a fish,

it was strange both Nick and myself were using the same bait tackle and we were literally fishing just feet away, but he hardly had a bite all day,

during the afternoon a small aircraft passed a few times in the distance,

 dropping sky divers from it,

not my idea of fun, but I guess a great many people enjoy the sport,

then the peace of the afternoon was shattered as Diana hooked a fish,

and it took off to the far side of the lake,

 but eventually it weaken,

 and was in the net,

 quickly unhooked,

it was the biggest fish of the day, unfortunately not one that is nice to eat so back he went, the final score finishing at 7-1-0 to me, Diana and then Nick, the lake we go to is the Mamak fishing park,

 here is their card,

and map, it is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the Soi from Sumkivitt, over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom of it the road the fishing park is in is on the right hand side, follow that for a while and the fishing park is on the left,

back at Nick and Maureen's house Nick prepared a panang curry for us,

which was delicious, followed by ice cream, cheese and biscuits,

then to the serious part of the evening, Monopoly, as you can see Nick was triumphant making up for the fishing, as it happens in a complete reversal of fortune I was first out in no time flat followed by Maureen, it was then a game of attrition as Diana and Nick battled it out, after saying our farewells to Nick and Maureen we made a move for home,

where we watched a couple from Columbo, just after midnight we called it a night so for us we were off to bed.
