Fishing Today,

so an early start,

we arrived at the Paifon Fishing Park,

there were only a few other anglers here when we arrived,

 first fish of the day,

then Nick caught one, both of our scores rising,

one particularly nice one went straight to the kitchen, where in no time at all it returned like this, the score so far 12 - 11 to me,

then Nick brought the score to 12 - 12 by catching this strange looking fish, it is commonly known as a pleco, an 'armour' plated sucker mouth catfish,

having said that the name plecostomus has now virtually disappeared as we know it, as the sub-family Plecostominae is no more and plecostomus is now considered to be a synonym of Hypostomus, but this particular specie is I think Pterygoplichthys pardalis (Castlenau, 1855), another member of the pleco group, over here and indeed in many parts of the world the fish has become a pest after escaping or being released in to the wild,

we then had a visit from this little chap, which I think is the aptly named Little Grebe, (Tachybaptus ruficollis),

 keeping to a bird theme,

this cheeky chappy made short work of the left over fish,

before the next dishes arrived, a chicken dish with a fried egg top,

 and some chicken fried rice,

I then went into the lead with this impressive chap, now 13 - 12 to me,

 after finishing the food,

 the sparrows came calling,

they were really quite at home,

 with us nearby,

if you fancy a day out the Paifon Fishing Park is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the Soi from Sukhumvitt, once in the Soi go over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom of it you will see a big pink building on the left where we normally turn right into the old fishing park, do not turn right, keep going until you see Soi 24 and turn right, there is a 7-11 on the corner, continue for about a mile it is past Soi 14, the concrete road comes to a strange cross road, take the one with the sign (above) on it and the park is on the left hand side, and the score for today? I caught 25 or so more fish, nearly all keepers in rapid succession, at one time each cast brought a fish, for 7 consecutive casts, literally as I recast another took the bait, and that was it for the day, the final score 25 - 12 to myself,

we drove over to Nick and Maureen's,

 for some coffee and cake,

one of the palm trees has just erupted,

 with seeds,

this just one side of the palm,

with more seeds to come on the other side of it,

all around their house there are a number of undeveloped plots, meaning that there are so many squirrels and birds in the area like this one, after saying our goodbyes we made a move for home, then feet up for the series Bargain Hunt, we followed that with a few from Judge Judy, then the highlight of the evening, Black Sails, which just keeps getting better and better and with that we were off to bed.
