As Usual,

when I first see something strange, I think Photoshop!


 or in this case some kind of stop motion photography

 but I was so wrong,

 these figures are all made of wood,

 and are the work of Japanese sculptor Yoshitoshi Kanemaki,

 based in Chiba, Kanemaki carves small, disturbing forms that allure to the duality he finds. “Looking deep into the world in which we live, we realise that everyone holds hesitations or contradictions that can never be reconciled,” he says,

he carves each sculpture out of single blocks of hinoki wood, you can certainly appreciate the technique and skill that goes into carving these sculptures, he also had a Facebook site, what amazing sculptures!
