A Few Months Ago,

I made a post about a matchstick company in Japan closing down,

image courtesy Nittosha, the post is here, the company Nittoshaannounced that they’re shutting down their business line in June after fulfilling all existing orders, images below from @fuwa_shop, where you can purchase the edible matchsticks,

but all is not lost, for anyone wanting a souvenir of a teahouse or restaurant,

a Hokkaido-based confectioner took matters into their own hands and created edible matchsticks, Kanon, which is a confectioner based in the Tokachi region of Hokkaido, Japan, spared no expense in making sure their matchstick cookies were a perfect replica of the real thing, they even visited a match-maker in Kobe to observe the process, which in turn informed their own cookie-making process. The boxes that the matchstick cookies come with are also originals created by the Kobe match company,

I guess it will only be a matter of time before a teahouse or restaurant will have the boxes overprinted with their establishments details and location.
