Pollock's Toy Museum is about to close,
we visited the museum way back in July 2016, at that time we were still living in Thailand, and had popped back to visit England and oversee our flat being refurbished, if you click onto the blue highlighted link above you will see we made a huge post, not only of the toy museum but also a visit to the home of Sherlock Holmes,
back to July 2016, the museum is housed in a huge multi floored rambling building,
a few photographs of the doll section,
Diana said she found these really creepy, their eyes following you around the room,
and could imagine them coming to life at night! such a shame that a museum that is almost a London landmark has to close, a message on Pollock’s website explains that
“due to a change in circumstances regarding the ownership of the buildings, we
have not been able to negotiate a sustainable future for the museum collection
at its current premises” the museum owners say that their collection of
toy theatres, elderly teddy bears, dolls, games and toys is in storage and they
are looking for another long-term home for the museum, although they are
also fundraising to cover the
unexpected cost of the storage facility, such a shame that the owners of the property
could not come to an agreement, but there it is, nothing stands in the way of
big business, for the full story have a look here.
